Have you ever peered out into the vastness of space on a dark night and wondered what it would be like to visit another planet?
My guess is, you probably have.
The vast majority of us earthlings will be staying right here on our home planet, but a select few will be traveling to Mars in the not-so-distant future.
Due to its relative proximity to Earth and the fact that it’s the most Earth-like planet in our solar system, Mars has inspired countless science fiction novels over the years and sparked the imaginations of generation after generation of youngsters.
Like me, chances are you’ll be staying behind when a few of our fellow humans strap themselves onto a rocket and take off towards the red planet, but thanks to the wonders of modern technology and photography we can still see exactly what Mars’ surface looks like.
And there’s no need to wait because we can check it out right now!
Today’s video features some absolutely incredible 4K images of the Martian surface that were taken by NASA’s fleet of exploring robotic rovers.
Truth be told, those images look like they could have been taken somewhere in the American desert southwest. Yes, Mars really is that much like Earth.
And now, I invite you watch and enjoy…
Notes: This video is a few years old, but the images are spectacular none the less.
