That line from that song has always resonated with me, because it’s so true.

Our Creator gave each and every one of us the ability to think for ourselves and make our own choices as we live out our lives here on planet Earth. Of course He also gave us the ultimate guidebook to consult as we evaluate the range of choices before us, but we are still completely free to ultimately make our own choices as we see fit.  [Read more…]

You probably know the Wright Brothers designed, built and flew the Wright Flyer, the first successful heavier-than-air aircraft.

And chances are you have seen the short video of their first successful flight on the windy beach at Kitty Hawk, North Carolina with Wilbur piloting the machine and Orville running alongside it.

Question from Katy:  I have a very simple question that I’ve been curious about for most of my life.

Why is milk white instead of some other color?

I know you can change the color of milk by adding stuff to it (chocolate syrup for example), but milk always comes out of the cow white. I know that for a fact because I grew up on a dairy farm.  [Read more…]

Today’s youngsters will never know what it was like to place a phone call before the invention of push button phones and smartphones with touchscreens.

If you’re old enough to remember using a rotary dial telephone you probably remember what it was like to dial each number manually and then have to wait for the dial to return to its original position before you could dial the next number.  [Read more…]

As a youngster I became fascinated with the world of electronics after watching my dad pull the back off our old black & white floor-model TV set and remove a vacuum tube that wasn’t glowing, suspecting that that “dead” tube was the reason the TV had stopped working.

I tagged along as he took that tube to our local TV repair shop to have it tested. Sure enough, it was deader than 4 o’clock in the middle of the Sahara desert.  [Read more…]
