The auroras that paint the night skies above our planet’s extreme northern and extreme southern regions are among the most magnificent sights in all of nature.
I’ve featured several videos of the Northern Lights (aka aurora borealis) on this site but today’s timelapse video features the Southern Lights (aurora australis) as witnessed from Banks Peninsula, New Zealand.
At a mere 59 seconds, this is one of the shortest videos I have ever featured on here, but there’s a LOT of beauty packed into that very short period of time.
