Like most everyone else I sometimes hear a song come on the radio that takes me back to my younger years – a song that helped shape the way I see the world and the people who live among us.
I heard one of those beloved songs yesterday and it brought back some wonderful memories…
Every time I hear the late Glen Campbell sing “Try A Little Kindness” it subtly reminds me how important it is to be kind to others as we make our way through life – both the good times and the bad. Everyone needs a little help every now and then and I have received more than my fair share of it over the course of my life thus far.
Kindness can take many forms. It isn’t just handing someone a buck or two when they’re down and out. It’s also offering a kind word of encouragement or a well-deserved compliment at times when they could really use one.
Basically anything you can do to make someone’s day (or even life) a little better is worth doing. If it puts a smile on their face and a spring in their step, it’ll likely do the same for you.
To finish up, here’s that wonderful song I told you about earlier. Listen, and enjoy…
I’ve learned over the years that the best thing I can do to help others is to remain positive and be happy myself. This has helped me quite a bit along that journey. (#ad)
