To us humans living on the surface of the Earth, our planet seems quite huge. And it really is in relation to the distances most of us travel during the terrestrial trips we make on foot, by car, by boat and by plane.
But truth be told, the Earth is but a speck amongst the stars and all of the other countless creations in the universe.
Have you ever pondered just how large the universe must be?
At an average distance of 238,900 miles, our closest extra-terrestrial neighbor is the moon. That sounds like a massive distance, right? Well, in relation to the universe as a whole, it’s just a proverbial stone’s throw.
The short video below demonstrates how large our “local” solar system is. Once you understand and comprehend that relatively small size (compared to the rest of the universe, of course), it’ll give you an entirely new perspective on the absolutely unbelievable size of the rest of the universe.
