“Enjoy the moment. You won’t have it again.” —Frank Sonnenberg
The essence of every life can be boiled down to just one thing: today.
Whether good or bad, what happened in the past is over. It’s history, never to be altered or relived.
On the flip-side, what will happen in the future is yet to come. Predictions are hard, especially about the future.
When it’s all said and done, the only period of time that really matters in life is today.
Yes, we all have memories from times past, but those memories cannot, and will not determine what we will end up doing or how we will end up feeling today.
And while it’s important to plan for the future, it’s equally important to enjoy today. Why? Because today might be the only future we have left.
Bottom line: Yesterday is gone and we are not promised a tomorrow. Enjoy today as if it’s going to be your last day on planet Earth. Then if tomorrow does come you can consider it a bonus and start the process of enjoying your today all over again.
On a related note, here’s a treasured song from my youth that always seems to make my “today” a little better every time I hear it.
I hope you enjoyed that song as much as I do. Need a little help and inspiration for enjoying your every “today”? Check this out. (#ad)
