Well, it’s that time of year again – the time when everyone is running from store to store and surfing from website to website trying to get their Christmas shopping finished on time.

And in case you haven’t noticed, it’s also the time of year when our TVs, computers and mobile devices are flooded with an endless stream of Christmas shopping ads.

Most of the holiday ads we see are pretty blah, but the folks at Chevrolet managed to come up with a real tear-jerker that’s quite possibly the most inspirational ad I have ever seen.  [Read more…]

We Americans often take the gift of freedom that we all enjoy for granted, never giving much thought to what was required in order to attain it and keep it.

It’s often said that “freedom isn’t free“, and that’s definitely true. Freedom had to be purchased, and keeping it requires a recurring payment that must be made on a continuous basis.

“Fiddlin’ Carson Peters” switches several gears to take on “The Voice”

Like many from my local area, I had the pleasure of watching Carson Peters grow up singing and playing his trademark sizzling fiddle.

The first time I saw this young man perform was in nearby Bristol, Virginia on the stage of a local Bluegrass Music show called The Pickin’ Porch.

He was all of 8 years old, but he played that fiddle like he was already a seasoned veteran – and in a very real way, he was.

A car guy walks you around his lot, excitedly screaming about all the awesome deals you can get, but only if you shop at his dealership!

Nah, I don’t really care for those over-the-top kinds of ads either.

But here’s a knock-off of those irritating car commercials that’ll probably put a smile on your face.
