Puffins are the northern cousins of the penguins that inhabit the cold extremes of the far southern hemisphere.

And as you can see, they are very colorful little critters.

Like many of Earth’s creatures, these amazing birds must work incredibly hard each and every day just to gather enough food for their families to live on until their meal.

Do giants really exist? The answer is actually yes.

Chances are you’re familiar with several stories about giants, including the biblical Goliath who the young lad David slew with a single stone hurled from his trusty slingshot.

According to his description in 1 Samuel 17, Goliath’s incredible height was “six cubits and a span”. That equates to a mind-boggling 9 feet and 9 inches.

I know, it’s hard to imagine a human being ever managing to grow to a height of 9 feet. After all, even the tallest NBA players are over a foot shorter than that.

But truth be told, on extremely rare occasions humans do grow to about that height.  [Read more…]

Pig Beach: An island paradise that’s inhabited by swimming pigs!

Do you enjoy visiting the Bahamas? Do you love pigs?

If the answer to both of those questions is yes, you would absolutely love Pig Beach!

Pig Beach is located on Big Major Cay, a small but frequently visited island in the Exuma district of the Bahamas.

And why do all those visitors come to Big Major Cay? To visit the swimming pigs, of course!

Are you a cat lover? If so, your bucket list should probably include a visit to the Japanese island of Aoshima, affectionately referred to by many as “Cat Island”.

“Cat Island” is so nicknamed because there are about 10 times as many cats on Aoshima as there are humans!
