Tommy Emmanuel is probably the best guitar player that most folks have never heard of.

He started playing guitar in his native Australia as a youngster after hearing the late, great Chet Atkins work his instrumental magic over the radio, and he has never looked back since.

What sets Tommy apart from the world’s other great musicians are his obviously deep love of performing and his almost unique ability to make a single acoustic guitar sound like an entire band.  [Read more…]

Most everyone is familiar with the distinctive look of the typical modern ambulance, but there was a time when ambulances looked much different.

Prior to the Civil War virtually all ambulance services existed to transport wounded soldiers from the battlefield to the nearest hospital or clinic.

Their extensive use during the Civil War made folks aware of just how beneficial ambulances could be to the general public.

When the first civilian ambulance services were created, guess who it was that stepped in to create most of them?

Funeral homes! And there’s a simple reason for that…

He just had a knack for taking a topic that everyone thought they knew inside and out and adding a completely new twist to it.
