One of the first things children learn in school is how the sun always rises in the east and sets in the west.
That’s certainly true here on Earth as well as most of the other planets in our solar system.
However, that isn’t the case with the planets Venus and Uranus.

Since Mercury is the closest planet to the sun, shouldn’t it also be the hottest planet in our solar system.
Well, one would think so, but that isn’t the case.
The planet Venus (the second planet from the sun) is actually hotter than any of the other planets, Mercury included.
