139 miles north of Sydney, Australia lies Mount Wingen, a large hill that’s been smoldering and belching smoke from its summit for thousands of years.
Commonly called “Burning Mountain”, Mount Wingen isn’t a volcano as you might expect.
The never-ending supply of smoke and ash are actually produced by an underground coal fire that simply will not go out.

Rainbows are among nature’s most beautiful phenomena, and double rainbows are a rare and wonderful treat!
Although they are much rarer than single rainbows, chances are you’ve still seen one or more of them in the past.

The world’s smallest inhabited island is located in New York State, but it’s just a very short distance from the Canadian border.
This tiny island is basically just a rock sticking up out the St. Lawrence River between New York and Ontario.
According to Wikipedia (and multiple other sources), this tiny 3,300 square foot island has just enough room for a small cottage, one tree and a pair of deck chairs!

Our wonderful Canadian friends up north are blessed to live in one of the most beautiful countries in the world.
And Canada isn’t just beautiful, it’s also huge. In fact, of all the countries on planet Earth, only Russia is larger.
However, in spite of its massive size and awesome beauty, Canada has a relatively small population compared to many other countries.

Most everyone is familiar with the distinctive look of the typical modern ambulance, but there was a time when ambulances looked much different.
Prior to the Civil War virtually all ambulance services existed to transport wounded soldiers from the battlefield to the nearest hospital or clinic.
Their extensive use during the Civil War made folks aware of just how beneficial ambulances could be to the general public.
When the first civilian ambulance services were created, guess who it was that stepped in to create most of them?
Funeral homes! And there’s a simple reason for that…
