Ask any American of any age when the last Civil War-era pensioner passed away and they’ll likely guess some time around the mid-1900s.

But guess what? They would be wrong. In fact, they would be very wrong.

As you surely know, our amazing planet has some truly incredible natural geological features.

One of the most beautiful and intriguing features in all the world is the iconic “Great Blue Hole” located just off the coast of Belize.

This almost perfectly round hole is incredibly large. In fact, its diameter at the mouth is a whopping 1,043 feet and it’s 407 feet deep!

One of my favorite songs during my teenage years was written and recorded by Dave Loggins, a popular singer/songwriter from nearby Mountain City, Tennessee.

“Please Come To Boston” would reach #5 on the pop chart during its run, and it has been covered by countless performers and bands over the years.

Many of those covers were quite good, but the one I like best is by another super-talented artist who also happens to be from my neck of the woods: Terry Garr.
