How ‘Shrinkflation’ is sneakily inflating your everyday expenses

I’m sure you’re well aware of the price hikes that are seemingly taking place on a monthly basis.

Right now we’re all experiencing inflation the likes of which we haven’t seen in decades.

Inflation itself is bad enough, but there’s also something else going on that’s making the situation even worse…

In case you haven’t noticed, the quantities of many of the products we use on a regular basis are shrinking while their prices either stay the same, or even go up.

This is what’s known as “shrinkflation”, inflation’s closely-related, but extremely deceitful cousin.  [Read more…]

I’ve often heard it said that freedom isn’t free, and that’s so very true.

Since the day our great nation was founded every generation has produced thousands of patriots who were ready and willing to risk their own lives to protect the freedoms we enjoy as Americans from the tyrants who would  endeavor to take them away.

Virtually every cemetery and graveyard in this country holds the remains of men and women who answered the call of duty and came home draped in the flag they fought so hard to protect.

On Memorial Day we come together as a nation to remember and honor all the brave souls who selflessly sacrificed their own futures so the rest of us could enjoy ours in freedom and peace.

I’m sure you’ll agree that the Internet has changed the world in many ways.

Most of those changes were for the better (in my humble opinion), but some of them were actually for the worse.

The Internet’s most awesome benefit is the way it lets us access needed information from home in seconds instead of having to drive across town to the library.

Nowadays you can instantly get an answer to most any question via a simple web search.

But unfortunately, the Internet also makes it a LOT easier for the scammers of the world to take advantage of unsuspecting victims.

The animal world is full of some rather beautiful and interesting creatures and one of my favorites is the squirrel.

If you have ever taken the 17.6 mile drive over and through the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel you know how exciting or terrifying it is, depending on your point of view.

I have taken this route on several occasions, and for me it’s a mixture of both. I always enjoy it but I’m also always relieved to reach the shore on the far side.
