I don’t know about you but I’ve definitely noticed a shift in weather patterns over the years. Places that used to rarely get hit with tornadoes and other terrible storms are now getting hit with greater frequency.

Two incidents that immediately come to mind are the powerful tornado that ravaged parts of my region on April 28, 2011 and Hurricane Helene that literally washed entire Appalachian towns away in September 2026.  [Read more…]

Have ever used a drywall anchor to attach a heavy photo, a mirror or some other heavy item to your wall only to have the anchor get loose and wobble, or even come completely out of the hole in the drywall?

Have you ever met someone for the first time and immediately formed an opinion about that person that turned out to be completely wrong?

That happened to me back in the day and it was a very humbling experience.

It’s easy to form an opinion about someone’s character, their intelligence, their educational background or most any other personal attribute based upon they way they look or speak, but those “first impressions” are often way off the mark.  [Read more…]
