Wingsuit flying is a variation of skydiving in which the divers uses specially constructed suits that essentially convert the human body into its own parachute.

Although a standard parachute is typically used for the final decent back to Earth, most of the flight is experienced using nothing but the wingsuit.

Back in September 1966 a whimsical tune from The Byrds hit the airwaves. It was titled “Mr. Spaceman” and it was quite different from most of the popular songs of the day.

In a nutshell, Mr. Spaceman is the tale of extra-terrestrial visitors paying nightly visits to the singer’s local neighborhood.

But instead of the fellow being terrified of the aliens, he asks for a ride in their spaceship. Sadly, that request isn’t granted but the song is up-beat and leaves you feeling better none-the-less.  [Read more…]

Q&A: Why do ‘Buffalo Wings’ come from chickens?

Buffalo WingsQuestion from Glenn:  I love “Buffalo Wings” and I eat a mess of them at least once a week.

The other day I was eating some wings and I got to wondering why they’re called “Buffalo Wings” instead of “Chicken Wings” since that’s what they really are.

This tiny country speaks more languages than any other country on Earth

Immigrants from all over the world arrive in the United States every single day.

And as you might guess, that naturally means you’ll find at least a few people here that speak virtually every “living” language in the world.

However, the vast majority of people living in the U.S. only speak one language (English) with just a relative few speaking all the other languages.

But guess what? There’s a tiny Pacific island country whose citizens speak a whopping 840 languages!
