Heads-up: Buying grocery items in family-size packages won’t always save you money

When you go grocery shopping do you automatically select items in the larger “family-size” packages in order to pay less per unit (i.e. per ounce or per serving)?

I actually did that until recently because… well, everyone knows you save money when you buy in bulk, right?

This mountain has been on fire for 6,000 years (but it isn’t a volcano)

139 miles north of Sydney, Australia lies Mount Wingen, a large hill that’s been smoldering and belching smoke from its summit for thousands of years.

Commonly called “Burning Mountain”, Mount Wingen isn’t a volcano as you might expect.

The never-ending supply of smoke and ash are actually produced by an underground coal fire that simply will not go out.

Although they are much rarer than single rainbows, chances are you’ve still seen one or more of them in the past.
